Sardinia is an island shaped by generations of craft traditions. Thanks to the island’s isolation, Sardinia’s sheep, La Pecorda Sarda, have developed into a unique local breed, and many traditional wool practices have survived here in ways that have disappeared elsewhere in Italy.

We’ll start this trip connecting with local cheesemakers at Sinnos Formaggi, who have invited our group to join their annual sheep shearing party. We’ll then learn wool felting with artist Kristina Foley and learn about the island’s wool weaving traditions. Throughout, we’ll enjoy delicious meals highlighting sheep and other local Sardinian specialties: honey, jams, cured meats, cheese and more.

We’ll stay in a collection of beautiful boutique lodgings in the village of Gergei - Domu Antiga, Mario Cesare, and Mola & Prentza.
