Thread Caravan Bodega

While I’m not usually a t-shirt gal, when I do wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt, it’s the Jungmaven hemp-blend pieces that Emily Katz created through her former business Modern Macramé. They’re incredibly soft and have become my go-to staples, whether I’m lounging at home, heading out on a hike or road trip, or anytime I just want to feel cozy.

To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we decided to create some gear of our own! All profits from our BODEGA sales will go towards funding our Artisan Exchange Program.

We partnered with designer Tess Rubinstein to create a few designs that honor both our roots in craft and our love of nature. She came up with three distinct designs — “Mountains”, “Threads”, + “Tools”. Here’s what she had to say about her creative process:

“One of the central themes I explored in this collection was the role of line, both as a visual tool and a symbolic element. All of these designs feature a woven line to depict thread and the many craft traditions anchored in textiles. But also to represent a meandering pathway as a symbol of travel, as well as a symbol of the artist’s process: non-linear and exploratory.”

We then partnered with a screen printer in the Bay Area to bring these designs to life on some of our favorite Jungmaven styles: a hemp-denim work coat (the perfect canvas for sewing on our patches!) and their popular Ojai tee to name a couple.

Monica of Bricolage Press and Thread Caravan founder Caitlin hit the road toward the Eastern Sierras of California with the new Thread Caravan gear and three of their dogs in a camper van. The pieces were ideal for cozy camping, slow mornings making pancakes and savoring California’s diverse produce, refreshing dips in cool rivers, and sunset mountain views with the pups by their side.
