This custom Thread Caravan trip for Andi, Emma, Elsie and Rachel will highlight some of Oaxaca’s most special treasures: history at Zapotec ruins, craft visits with artisan communities, mineral springs in the mountains, and of course: delicious food and mezcal.

In-country Transportation: From the moment you arrive at the airport until the moment you return, Thread Caravan will arrange your transportation.
Accommodation: We’ll be staying at boutique hotel Casa Antonieta.
All meals: Starting with dinner on the trip arrival day and ending with a final breakfast on your departure day, all meals are included in trip cost. We’ll eat a range of styles: from our favorite street food, to home cooked meals with artisans, to fine dining tasting menus.
A selection of our favorite activities: Likely inclusions are natural dyeing workshop, weaving and ceramics demonstrations, visits to a textile museum, an art center, Zapotec ruins, mineral springs in the mountains and a mezcal farm, and free or guided shopping time in markets and boutiques.
Free time activities: There will be scheduled free time in the late afternoon/early evening of each day. Any activities you choose to do during this time (botanical gardens, museums, etc) will be at your own expense.
Personal Expenses: i.e. shopping. :)
Vaccinations: Routine vaccinations, Hepatitis A and Typhoid are suggested by the Center for Disease Control. If you are traveling from a country with Yellow Fever, it is required that you have a Yellow Fever vaccination.
VISA: A VISA is not required for citizens of the United States if traveling to Mexico for under 180 days. If you are a citizen of another country you can check VISA requirements here.
Passport Validity: In order to enter Mexico, your passport must be valid for at least 90 days following your departure date. You must also have at least one blank page in your passport.
Travel Insurance: Thread Caravan is not liable for any injury, theft or trip cancelations that may occur. We suggest all travelers obtain personal travel insurance to cover the possibility of these incidents.
