Thread Caravan will take you to the small town Comalapa, or to one of the more local towns on Lake Atitlan. Known for its folk paintings and sustainably-built school, Comalapa is a creative hub in the middle of the highlands. While there we'll connect with a group of female weavers who will demonstrate weaving techniques and teach you about their traditions. We'll have a local-style lunch and then you'll get to try your hand at the weaving process. At the lake we'll work with a family of female weavers to create a small weaving, and then spend the afternoon getting to know the town and enjoying the scenery.
